HIGH demand for a course aimed at women thinking of launching their own business has led directors to add extra dates.

Gucci boots Women In Rural Enterprise (WiRE) Gucci boots is running another Opening Doors programme at Rudyard Lake Activity Centre near Leek.

The three-day course aims to give clients the skills and confidence needed to start a new company.

Its first session focuses on building confidence, the Fashion mcqueen second looks at creating a business plan and the final session is a one-to- one with a business adviser.

Even though Oakmont Country Club is expected to present the stiffest challenge of their careers, most golfers are expected to stick with their normal set of clubs for the 65th U.S. Women's Open, which begins today.

Cristie Kerr, who won the Open in 2007, said she will take her 4- iron and 7-wood out of her bag. Eun-Hee Ji, the defending champion, has added a new set of wedges to give her more spin on the fast, unpredictable greens.

Kerr and Ji seemingly are among the few who will adjust what's in their bag to the challenges they'll face on the 6,613-yard, par-71 course.

"I think (the bag) will look fairly similar to what it has been the last couple of weeks," Kerr said. "My Ping hybrid goes almost as far as my 7-wood, so I would take my 4-iron and my 7-wood out, have my hybrid so you have a gap wedge (to the green).

"I think that you're going to hit in some of the bunkers on this course. Even with a good shot you might get a bad bounce or something. But I think it's important for me to have my gap wedge in the bag this week just so I don't have an in-between yardage.

Manolo shoes "I'd have to grip down on a pitching wedge, and you can't put any spin on that, especially into these greens."

Ji is in the habit of changing clubs from tournament to tournament. This time, the changes are minimal.

"It's a really long course for an LPGA player, so we have to hit a lot of good shots," Ji said. "Everybody keeps the hybrid and fairway woods (in their bags)."

According to USGA official Mike Davis, the firmness of the greens will influence club selection -- including what to add or subtract from the bag. So, choosing what to put in their bags could influence shot selection and how the ball reacts on the putting surface.

Manolo shoes "We want a well-struck shot from the fairways," said Davis, director of rules and competition. "If it's a mid-iron, say, crisply hit from the fairways, like a 6-iron, we want to see a bounce, bounce, then it starts to grab.

"If it's a 9-iron, maybe a bounce and grab or something longer than a 6-iron, then maybe it's a bounce, bounce, bounce, Christian louboutin shoes and maybe it doesn't even start to grab. Maybe it's a roll. That is the idea."

Yani Tseng, who won the year's first major, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, is concerned mostly about one club: the driver.

IT took team work, great skill, much muscle and no little bravery to pull a trapped horse from the sand near Holy Island as the tide came rushing in.

A quirk of fate may have led the beast into danger, but it was rescued by straight forward human endeavour.

GALWAY-BORN celebrity hairdresser James Brown styles a long list of famous clients, including Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow. James, 40, lives between London and Galway. He says:

I LOVE the fact that I wake up every Monday and never know what is going to happen tiffany heart tag bracelet that week or who I am going to be working with. Last Monday started with business meetings. Then, at 11am, I had a call from a friend of Lily Allen, the singer (pictured below). She wanted to know if I could do Lily's hair that night for an awards ceremony.

At 4pm, I was wheeling my little suitcase of styling tools round the corner to Lily's house. When I arrived, Lily showed me an incredible Chanel catsuit she had chosen to wear, and I instantly thought of Cher in the Seventies. When I finished Lily's hair, I decided to go to the GQ Awards as well -- which is rare for me, because I'd normally rather be on my farm in Galway shovelling horse muck than attending some glittering showbusiness bash. But I'd just spent six weeks on holiday with my horses, so I thought: 'Why not?'

On Tuesday, I was at work in my salon. I have no VIP rooms there: whoever walks through the door gets treated the same. A cut costs around [euro]500 and there are about 200 people on the waiting list. I cut hair dry. When someone walks in off the street, I like to see how their hair looks. I can't understand why so many stylists soak people's hair before trying to decide what they are going to do.

I choose to work only with people who are fun to be with, because life is frankly too short to deal with anyone who is rude and self-centred.

Jobs aren't always as easy as that. Several years ago I did a location shoot in the Amazon rainforest with a top American model called Missy Rayder for a Brazilian magazine. It was the job from hell. I had to sleep in a treehouse, even though I'm terrified of heights, and then stand in a river filled with flesh-eating piranha fish.
